I lived in Honolulu, Hawaii for 17 years and took many things for granted. Seeing a big surf and surfers scattered to catch the next big wave was a common place. Driving to the North shore part of Oahu to sit by the beach and enjoy a cold treat of Matsumoto’s shave ice was just another day. Since I have ventured out of good old Hawaii, I catch myself going back in time relieving those ordinary, everyday sights, rewinding, fast forwarding and playing over and over again. The beach, the food, the Aloha spirit and all those that made this place a paradise. I raised two young sons, my biological son Rick Gaston and stepson James aka Jimmy Frederick. In additions, we had at one time 9 indoor/outdoor cats and two pit bull ( Picolo and Picalet). We belonged to one of Honolulu’s Water Ski Club and weekends were spent at the Club. We were all avid water skiers, boat drivers and party people at the end of a good run. There were Margarita nights that our friend Jason Seto and wife Laurie expertly manned. To sum it up, it was a wonderful life as could be expected when you are in paradise.
